Project Description:
This group takes samples of the lake water during the summer. In 2025, this was about every two weeks beginning in June and ending in mid-September. Ideally each sampling session takes about 2 hours of time start-to-finish. Someone also needs to take the packed samples to Fedex during the week. More can be found about the CSLAP program here. Ideally, in order to participate in this, each participant needs to have been trained by someone from NYSFOLA. This usually happens in the month of May.
Immediate Needs:
- We could use a few more trained volunteers as we have found that sometimes it is difficult to make all 8 sampling days work in everyone’s calendar. Note: Even if you don’t get “officially” trained, as long as you are on the boat with someone that is trained and are following their lead, that may be sufficient – at least until we can get you “officially” trained.
