Project Description:
A Safe Yield report was produced by a consultant back in 2021and submitted to Livingston County. It attempted to provide a better understanding of the water inflows and outflows to help us better manage the lake for everything from drinking water to recreational use. The report itself, while helpful, also raised a number of concerns and questions and some areas that deserved more attention. One of these concerns led to the Streamgage effort now underway. Other areas deserving of further discussion and research include Dam Control (literally the dam control system) and also the assumptions and interpretations of the data that has gone into determining target lake levels and how they are best achieved.
Immediate Needs:
- Anyone with a good understanding of actuator controls, the more modern, the better. While we don’t want to be engineers of the dam, the better understanding we can bring to the table of how things work will help us get to a better solution quicker and at the right cost!
