Project Description:

As a result of the Safe Yield Study, it was determined that having data specific to our lake regarding water source inflows would be more useful for future analysis.  As such, a project was undertaken in late 2023 to identify a relatively low-cost, yet accurate and reliable stream gage and install it in the Conesus Inlet.  The device has been installed and functioning for two years.  It is time to determine if there is benefit to additional devices and other inflow locations and to identify what it will take to install and maintain them.

Immediate Needs:

  • We already know most of the hardware (based on the initial device).  This will mostly involve the nuances of identifying appropriate locations and figuring out how to protect the unit(s) once they are installed.  There are also inherent challenges (including costs) in data collection.
